DAMARIS GODDRIE wearing JW ANDERSON
It started as a pencil sketch on a watercolour-stained page of my moleskine sketchbook. White acrylic ink was added for the highlights and then a photo was taken of the completed sketch.
I used this to create a digitised version of my drawing on my iPad-pro, using Procreate to blend the paper edge on the neck (my previous choice of clothing didn't suit Ms Goddrie so I had to 'collage' over it 😬) . . . you'll also see that I've subtley coloured the dress; this was also done in Procreate as I was too nervous to do it straight into the sketchbook for fear of messing it up completely!
Moving between two both Procreate and Pixelmator, I then chose one of my NYC snaps to use as a background - and suitable filters to add some depth and atmosphere to the piece. I also thought I'd add a little 'motion' to my portrait using an app called (unsurprisingly) MotionPortrait. . . and you can see a short vid of the whole process here:
